Well, after two different BMVs, too many phonecalls, and too many headaches, I have decided to sell my Jialing. The state of Ohio will not let me title it or get plates for it which means I can't do anything with it. I guess I should've put a little more forethought into this purchase. It's a 49cc Jialing Passport ~5km (basically new) you name the price. I've ridden it around the block once. I am in Cincinnati OH. Thanks, schulkfl I am aware that there is a For Sale/Buy section however I thought this area gets more activity-

Will Ohio title and plate it as a motorcycle? Skipper

Nope they sure won't- In order for it to be a motorcycle it has to be 50ccs or higher. In order to be a moped it's gotta be on their list of 'acceptable' mopeds - Since it does not qualify as either, it cannot be legally driven on the road.

Did you ever get it running right? If so, what was the problem? How much are you asking for it?

It runs fine. I'm not sure that anything was really wrong with it except that I didn't really know what I was doing. So it was just a matter of messing with those little screws and being easy on the choke and it runs- I have no set price in mind and will consider anything - shoot me a PM and let me know what you're thinking-

That basically sucks, although I heard about someone in another state with the same problem. Florida, I think. I had no problem at all registering mine in AZ as a motorcycle, I even got a real title for it. The MSO, and the plate that is riveted to the frame say "motor driven cycle", but it also said that it meets all federal requirements as of date of manufacture, and has a 17 digit VIN. It also went right through the insurance companies database, and cost me $15 a year to insure it. Peace. Jerry.

Anyone know what happens if you get pulled over on a moped without plates?

when i purchased my passport thay asked how i wanted it listed on the mso as 49cc or 50cc is it possible that you can request the dealer to reprint your mso?i had very little problem registering mine i alabama they didnt even bother to go out and look at it.i also wonder if you can register it in another state and then transfer the title?

another thought perhaps you can register it at a county courthouse where they might not be such rule sticklers?
