Hello everyone, I recently added a 12v cigarette type outlet onto my Jialing Passport. Here's what I did: I don't have anything that uses a 12 outlet that I would want to test on only to have it destroyed by the experiment, so I first went to my truck and put the leads of a digital multi meter to the fuse box. It went up and down as I drove around first through the neighborhood and then down the highway from 12.2v up to 12.8v. Next I went for the Passport and found that while the voltage changed a little more quickly, it still was well within what I thought was an appropriate range for me to start the experimenting. So off to Wal-Mart for me. I head down to the automotive department and find everything I need. I bought an outlet that was intended to be hooked up to the trailer lighting receptacle of a pick up(it only had 2 wires though. not 4) and some splicing crimps and I already had some electrical tape. I hooked the ground wire strait to the battery's ground terminal and then I hooked up the hot wire to fused side of the lead coming off the positive end of the battery. I've had it on for nearly a week now and am pleased with the way it charges my phone.
